The time of the Vermindoom is almost upon us, with the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar and the incredible Skaventide boxed set looming on the horizon. These hardy metal markers are excellent collector’s pieces, each set coming in a display folder featuring the same artwork as the Core Book inside the Skaventide box. This slick hardback book showcases the corrupted twin-tailed comet logo from the new edition on the cover, with pages printed with Warhammer Age of Sigmar iconography throughout.
This jam-packed offering is set to captivate enthusiasts and immerse them in an unparalleled gaming experience. The Skaventide is spreading throughout the Mortal Realms, with the devoted Stormcast Eternals of the Hallowed Knights leading the charge. This massive box represents the largest Warhammer Age of Sigmar release to date, filled with an abundance of books and miniatures.
The box is split into two sections, each worth 1,200 points. Within these sections, there are 24 Stormcast Eternals, battle-hardened warriors who have been reborn countless times, and 50 Skaven, terrifying creatures that overwhelm their enemies with sheer numbers, dark sorcery, and chaotic inventions.
The warriors of the Stormcast Eternals (Click here)
Sigmar himself created the Stormcast Eternals to reclaim the Mortal Realms from the forces of Chaos. Each Stormcast Eternal is a brave soul taken from the God of Death and transformed into an immortal warrior on the Anvil of Apotheosis.
However, this immortality comes with consequences. With each death and subsequent Reforging, their flaws are magnified and their souls are slowly eroded.
Despite this, the Skaven threat is so severe that Sigmar has no choice but to call upon those warriors who are on the verge of losing themselves completely. In this desperate hour, all are willing to fight.
Lord-Vigilant on Gryph-stalker (Click here)
The Lord-Vigilant on Gryph-stalker is a powerful hero choice for the Stormcast Eternals in Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Serving as the leader of the Ruination Chamber, these elite warriors have passed beyond the Storm's Eye, balancing their humanity with pure azyrite power.
Mounted on swift Gryph-stalkers, the Lord-Vigilants wield hallowed greataxes and are adept in close combat. Their abilities reflect this, with the Lord-Vigilant able to order a friendly non-Hero Ruination Chamber unit to use two Fight abilities in one phase, though the second is subject to the Strike-Last rule.
Additionally, the Lord-Vigilant can resist an enemy effect on himself with a 4+ roll on a D6. This combination of offensive power and resilience makes the Lord-Vigilant a formidable presence on the battlefield.
The Lord-Vigilant miniature is set to be included in the Age of Sigmar launch box, ensuring that this new hero will see plenty of tabletop action. With their unique role in the Ruination Chamber and potent abilities, the Lord-Vigilants will undoubtedly play a key part in the Stormcast Eternals' fight against the forces of Chaos.
Lord-Terminos (Click here)
One can find solace from the burden of immortality through the mercy of Lord-Terminos, who offers the gift of oblivion. In times of desperation, these brave warriors will traverse the battlefield, wielding the powerful Blade Terminos to vanquish Skaven foes.
The Lord-Terminos represents the grim toll that the endless cycle of death and rebirth takes on the Stormcast Eternals. As one of the most troubled and hardened warriors in the Ruination Chamber, they embody the sacrifices required to defend the Mortal Realms against the forces of Chaos
Lord-Veritant (Click here)
With an unparalleled disdain for Chaos, the Lord-Veritant possesses exceptional skills in eradicating corruption from the Mortal Realms. Supported by their loyal Gryph-crow allies, they relentlessly pursue formidable sorcerers and unorthodox clergy.
The Lord-Veritant is the Stormcast Eternals' ruthless "witchfinder", wielding the divine authority of Sigmar to purge Chaos corruption. Recruited from the Obsessed, these stalwart heroes carry the Lantern of Abjuration to banish dark sorceries, serving as the "inescapable wrath of the heavens" against the forces of Chaos.
Knight-Questor (Click here)
Unburdened by the pressures of command, a Knight-Questor is an errant hero tasked by Sigmar to perform a significant duty, be that retrieving a lost heirloom or slaying an enemy warlord. Whatever their task, few can stand between them and their ultimate goal.
Unencumbered by the need to coordinate with a larger force, the Knight-Questor can focus all their martial prowess on their appointed task. Whether it be recovering a sacred relic, eliminating a high-priority target, or undertaking some other vital mission, the Knight-Questor will stop at nothing to achieve their objective.
Wielding a powerful Thunderstrike Greatmace and clad in gleaming Stormcast armor, the Knight-Questor is a formidable combatant. Their single-minded determination and lack of distractions make them a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Foes who dare to stand in the Knight-Questor's way will be swept aside by the avatar of Sigmar's will.
Reclusians (Click here)
In times of great need, Reclusians are mobilized. With unwavering determination and eerie silence, they move forward while sorcery and corruption attempt to taint them – yet their souls remain untouched by these wicked forces.
Memorians, mortal companions, are tasked with preserving the legacy and memories of the Reclusians.
Prosecutors (Click here)
The Prosecutors are an elite aerial unit within the Stormcast Eternals' Ruination Chamber. Soaring into battle on flickering flame-like wings, these deadly warriors are Sigmar's vengeful hunters, armed with elegant javelins and robust circular shields.
The Prosecutors' duties have become increasingly dangerous as the Cursed Skies conjured by Be'lakor trap the souls of Stormcast Eternals, preventing their return to Azyr for Reforging. As a result, many Prosecutors have been reassigned to the Ruination Chamber, where their new Thunderstrike armour helps them punch through the blackened skies of death.
In battle, the Prosecutors can conjure crackling Stormcall Javelins from the aether itself, bombarding their foes from on high. They then hurl themselves into close combat with the speed of a lightning bolt, rolling an extra dice on the charge.
The Ruination Chamber's ability to negate nearly any type of targeted enemy ability, combined with the Prosecutors' aerial mobility and ranged firepower, makes them a formidable force on the battlefield. Their hardened souls, forged through countless Reforgings, allow them to resist the malevolent energies of the Cursed Skies that would ensnare lesser Stormcast Eternals.
Liberators (Click here)
At the heart of every Stormcast Eternals army lies a steadfast foundation of Warrior Chamber fighters, like the tough Liberators. With their shields and hammers, they are tasked with maintaining the defense and launching devastating counteroffensives.
The Skaven (Click here)
The Skaven, known for their treachery and willingness to betray anyone for personal gain, have merged the nightmarish sub-dimension of Blight City with the Mortal Realms after a daring series of rituals.
As a result, they are now flooding into the Mortal Realms in larger numbers than ever before, with the Great Horned Rat claiming his place among the Chaos gods.
Clawlord on Gnaw-beast (Click here)
The Clawlords of Clan Verminus are renowned for their ability to survive and their hunger for power. However, only the most skilled or cunning among them can obtain a twisted Gnaw-beast from the Clans Moulder and a lethal ratling pistol from the Clans Skryre.
Grey Seer (Click here)
Grey Seers, being natural-born mages and verminous prophets, possess an inherent talent for magic. They exhibit the remarkable ability to teleport seamlessly across the battlefield and summon turbulent storms of warp lightning.
Additionally, they consume fragments of warpstone to amplify their already impressive arcane abilities.
Warlock Engineer (Click here)
Amidst the swarming Clanrats, the Warlock Engineers dedicate their attention to the intricate task of preserving the temperamental yet formidable armaments utilized by the Clans Skryre. Additionally, they expertly engage in sniping enemy heroes by utilizing their personalized warplock muskets.
Ratling Warpblaster (Click here)
The Skaven's love for unstable artillery is demonstrated by the Rating Warpblaster, a menacing rotary cannon that fires warpstone-infused projectiles, capable of cutting through masses of infantry.
Rat Ogors (Click here)
The Clans Moulder's deranged minds have given birth to the fearsome Rat Ogors, savage war-mutants. These creatures' already powerful physiques are further augmented through exposure to warpstone.
As a reward for displaying a hint of intellect, select Rat Ogors are bestowed with the addition of volatile Clans Skryre weaponry, fused to their limbs.
Warplock Jezzails (Click here)
Skaven, being cowardly creatures, rely on ranged combat to stay away from the front lines. The Warplock Jezzails are particularly adept at assisting them in maintaining their distance and picking off enemy generals with precision.
Clanrats (Click here)
In the Clans Verminus, Clanrats are seen as the disposable grunts, outfitted with rusty blades and poorly constructed shields. Although they may lack in skill and bravery, they make up for it with their overwhelming numbers and a relentless drive to advance within the clan.
