Kill Team: Tomb World—Deathwatch vs. Necron Horrors in the Depths of Somneft
Deep beneath the radioactive deserts and crumbling canyons of Somneft, a forgotten threat stirs—one that could unravel the Indomitus Crusade itself. Hidden within this dead world lies a dormant Necron tomb, and the only force aware of its terrifying potential is Watch Fortress Prescience.
With the Imperium’s armies stretched thin across the Nephilim Sector, the burden falls on the Deathwatch to eliminate the xenos threat before it fully awakens. Welcome to Kill Team: Tomb World, the launch point for a brand-new season of covert, high-stakes operations.
The Deathwatch Arrives
The Deathwatch are not your average Space Marines. Each warrior is a seasoned veteran, handpicked from one of the galaxy’s countless Chapters and trained in the art of surgical xenos extermination. In Kill Team, they embody elite, mission-focused warfare—silent, strategic, and unstoppable.
This new kill team kit lets you build a squad of five operatives from a pool of 11 unique specialists. Whether you need a sniper to eliminate threats at range, a melee expert to bring down enemy leaders, or a tank to absorb incoming fire, the Deathwatch have the tools for the job. The kit includes 10 miniatures, giving you the flexibility to build nearly every combination for your mission needs.
A Tomb Awakens: Enter the Canoptek Circle
But the tomb is not empty. Lurking within its shifting corridors is a Cryptek Geomancer—a master of stonecraft and Necron technology. Unlike their brethren, this Cryptek doesn’t awaken legions of warriors, but instead summons the Canoptek Circle, a terrifying force of semi-autonomous drones dedicated to restoring the tomb—and eliminating intruders.
New Canoptek Units:
-
Tomb Crawlers: Massive, armored constructs equipped with devastating firepower. One can even teleport victims into another dimension.
-
Macrocyte Warriors: Fragile, expendable drones that respawn unless three or more are already on the battlefield. Their strategic value is so low that they’re ignored when scoring certain objectives, making them dangerous distractions.
A Return to Close Quarters Combat
Kill Team: Tomb World brings back the fast-paced, claustrophobic action of Close Quarters gameplay, first seen in Into the Dark. But this time, it’s all set within a mysterious Necron facility.
This modular terrain set features:
-
Regenerating walls
-
Teleportation pads
-
Shimmering stasis portals
-
Necron warriors dormant in wall alcoves
Like the terrain from Killzone: Gallowdark, the Tomb World board is completely customizable, allowing players to create new layouts in every match with doors, pillars, and corridors that snap together quickly.
Bonus Necron Forces and Mission Packs
The box also includes 10 Necron Warriors and 3 Scarab Swarms—perfect for use in Joint Ops and Adversary Ops. Whether you’re facing them in solo/co-op missions or including them in competitive play, they add an extra layer of tactical challenge.
In total, that’s 31 miniatures before even adding the terrain—making this one of the most content-rich Kill Team sets to date.
Dive Into the Lore: The Tomb World Dossier
The accompanying Tomb World Dossier is packed with narrative depth. Explore the history of Somneft and its ancient slumbering evil. Discover the rival forces of Kill Team Vaskovian (Deathwatch) and Amhetra’s Cryptoretinue (Necrons), and learn how their paths have crossed in this lethal subterranean arena.
Also included:
-

-
Story-driven scenarios and mission briefings
Final Thoughts
Kill Team: Tomb World offers a cinematic showdown between humanity’s most specialized warriors and the cold, calculating servants of an ancient Necron overlord. With detailed miniatures, immersive lore, and dynamic terrain, this box is more than an expansion—it’s a full campaign in a box.
If you’re a fan of elite tactics, modular battlefields, and tight, objective-driven skirmishes, this is one set you won’t want to miss.
