Kill Team: Nightmare

Kill Team Descends Into a World of Nightmares

The latest season of Kill Team commences with the catastrophic crash of the space hulk Gallowdark onto the forge world of Bheta-Decima. Amidst the chaos, Space Marine Scouts and Aeldari Aspect Warriors engage in fierce battles over crucial information on the planet's deteriorating sea platforms. Now, the dread-inducing forces of the Night Lords and the enigmatic Drukhari Mandrakes clash in the aptly named Kill Team: Nightmare. Contained within this packed box are two complete Kill Teams - the terrifying Nemesis Claw warband of the Night Lords, renowned from their appearance at the World Championships of Warhammer, and a fresh coven of Drukhari Mandrakes. The Night Lords have undergone a transformation with the addition of a new upgrade sprue, adorned with flayed skins, barbed hooks, and flensed skulls. These new components offer a range of brutal weapons favored by the followers of Konrad Curze, such as the wicked chainglaive, barbed talons, and knives dripping with paralyzing toxins. Lords of Commorragh with the necessary resources can enlist Mandrake kill teams, although these spectral assassins ultimately fight only for themselves. Their expertise lies in manipulating shadows, allowing their glimmersteel blades to strike with even greater force when darkness engulfs their prey. Among their ranks, the Mandrake Shadeweaver stands out as an exceptionally dangerous operative, possessing unparalleled command over the essence of darkness. In their presence, lights flicker and fade, shrouding the battlefield in an all-encompassing shadow. The Mandrakes can even tunnel through the fabric of reality, emerging within striking distance before vanishing like a wisp of smoke. Kill Team: Nightmare offers more than just these two formidable factions. It also introduces a remarkable new piece of terrain, the Generatorum Hub, which presents fresh challenges within the Bheta-Decima killzones. This large multi-level platform provides protection from various angles, covering a significant portion of the rough seas on the game board. Conveniently accessible from raised gangways, it adds an exciting dynamic to gameplay. With nine new missions specifically designed for this terrain, Kill Team: Nightmare promises an immersive and thrilling experience for players.

Warcry: Pyre and Flood

Nighthaunt and Luminth Realm-lords Engage in Elemental Battle

Within the Realm of Death, Nagashizzar stands as the central hub, exuding a melancholic ambiance that is illuminated by ethereal torches. The responsibility of maintaining the city's luminosity falls upon the Pyregheists, a caste of radiant Nighthaunt who infuse magic and flesh to keep the lights ablaze. Presently, these Pyregheists have emerged in the Ghurish jungle, necessitating the intervention of the Ydrilan Riverblades. These warriors possess the unique ability to tap into the elemental essence of Hysh's riverways, making them the ideal candidates to confront and defeat the Pyregheists.

The Gnarlwood, located in the Realm of Beasts, is a dense cluster of carnivorous trees that has been formed as a result of the malfunctioning Realmshaper Engines in a crashed Seraphon void ship. This vibrant and deadly environment serves as a battleground where bloodthirsty warriors engage in fierce combat to claim the valuable treasures hidden within. Nagash, the Supreme Lord of the Undead, views the living Gnarlwood as an insult to the realm of the undead and has dispatched a group of cursed Nighthaunt to eradicate it through a destructive cleansing. However, the warrior-monks of the Lumineth Realm-lords possess the ability to prevent this catastrophe, although their motivations may not be entirely selfless. In Warcry: Pyre & Flood, two new warbands, the Ydrilan Riverblades and the Pyregheists, enter the Ravening Ruin, representing elemental forces that clash over the destiny of the Gnarlwood and its inhabitants.

Nagash's inventive cruelty has given rise to an array of twisted torments, which he mercilessly inflicts upon those who have wronged him in life. For the embalmers, alchemists, and holy individuals who strive to preserve the souls of the deceased through sacred fires and blessed unguents, their punishment is eternal consumption by balefire. These unfortunate souls are burdened with the responsibility of keeping the eternal braziers of Nagashizzar ablaze, replenishing them with mortal flesh and soul-matter to emit a deathly magical aura. These smoldering spirits have now gathered in the Gnarlwood, preparing to transform it into a blazing inferno of necromantic energy, a funeral pyre that celebrates their merciless God. Opposing these charred apparitions are the warrior-monks of the Ydrilan temples. Known as aelementiri, these Lumineth are devoted to the elemental spirits that embody Hysh, worshiping the rivers of the Mortal Realms. They embody the relentless force of rushing water in combat, leaping, twisting, swaying, and striking with fluid fury. Their mission is to revive the spirit of the River Derovar to its former glory, redirecting its tributaries to flood the Ravening Ruin and cleanse it of the Chaos filth and corrupted entities that plague it. The Pyre and Flood expansion introduces a new piece of terrain for Warcry – the monolithic Idol of the Old Ones. Originally part of a network of statues embedded with the Eye of Chotec, these statues were scattered across the Gnarlwood when they collided with Ghur. Adorned with magical trinkets and equipped with arcane security systems, these stern frog sculptures can unleash coruscating beams of energy upon unsuspecting explorers. Additionally, they serve as convenient vantage points for more agile fighters to launch surprise attacks on unsuspecting foes.

Kroot Hunting Pack Army Set

Don’t Get Caught by the New Kroot Hunting Pack

The release of Codex: T’au Empire is just around the corner, and the original auxiliary melee specialists are ready to expand their ranks with new miniatures. In the upcoming army set, you can expect to find Krootox cavalry, new Shaper variants, and updated Carnivores, offering an exciting addition to the T’au Empire forces.

The Kroot kindreds are led into battle by wise gene-shamans called Shapers. These skilled leaders now have a wider selection to choose from, starting with the two in the Kroot Hunting Pack. The first one is the War Shaper, an experienced commander who takes charge of organizing all Kroot forces on the battlefield. War Shapers are exceptional warriors in their own right. Although their traditional equipment may appear primitive, it is highly effective in the hands of these experienced individuals. They possess twirling melee skills with the bladestave and prey-hook, as well as precise ranged abilities with the dart-bow and tri-blade. Accompanying them is the vicious Flesh Shaper, who excels in ritualistic butchery. They take great pride in guiding the carnivorous practices of their fellow Kroot and ensuring that only the finest genetic material becomes part of their pack's evolutionary heritage.

The primary force of a Kroot army is predominantly made up of Kroot Carnivores, a group of warriors known for their simple weaponry and fierce appearance. However, their rustic equipment and savage countenance belie their impressive combat skills and respectable marksmanship. These Carnivores serve as the essential core of any Hunting Pack, which is why a complete set includes a generous quantity of 20 individuals. The newly designed kit not only showcases the unique characteristics of the Carnivores but also offers a range of dynamic poses that highlight their natural agility, while still maintaining the classic style. Additionally, these warriors now possess a new trick in the form of a tanglebomb launcher, which provides explosive fire support to their Kroot rifle volleys.

In terms of fire support, the Kroot weapons platform, namely the Krootox, has undergone a remarkable transformation, becoming the epitome of excellence. This colossal creature, belonging to a distinct subspecies, possesses raw strength that makes it an ideal cavalry unit armed with repeater cannons and tanglecannons. Despite its imposing size, the Krootox maintains its mobility, allowing it to actively participate in combat without compromising its agility. These creatures, considered as esteemed partners, are adorned with various ornaments, fetishes, and bangles to showcase their elevated status. Although typically non-aggressive, a juvenile Krootox may exhibit a more hot-tempered nature and can be incited into battle by an audacious rider.

Assembled into roaring packs of Krootox Rampagers, their raw strength is expertly utilized for sudden ambushes and devastating charges. They serve as both linebreakers and skirmish cavalry, venturing ahead of the wider Hunting Pack. Their riders actively participate by launching javelins and wielding vicious hunting blades, granting each Rampager a total of seven attacks in close quarters combat. With the potential for up to six Rampagers in each unit, they form a substantial force of melee power that charges across the battlefield. The Kroot have made such a resurgence that they now possess their own dedicated Detachment in the new Codex: T’au Empire. The Kroot Hunting Pack allows you to deploy an exclusively Kroot force, complete with thematic Enhancements and Stratagems. The rest of the galaxy will be left astounded by their unexpected dominance.

The Croneseer and Dawnbringers Book V

Krethusa the Croneseer heralds the arrival of Dawnbringer V

The Twin-tailed Crusade carries on, and a menacing presence from the Daughters of Khaine is becoming increasingly apparent. In contrast to the devoted followers of Morathi-Khaine, the Croneseer is devoted to an entirely different benefactor.

Despite Morathi-Khaine's betrayal of Sigmar in her relentless pursuit of godhood, not all of her kindred worship the Shadow Queen. Aid for the besieged Sigmarites in Aqshy and Ghyran is brought by Krethusa the Croneseer, who arrives on the wings of midnight-black. From her early days, Krethusa was an outcast in the sisterhood of Khaine due to her fixation on Morai-Heg, the ancient Crone goddess who was consumed by Slaanesh along with the rest of the aelven pantheon. She firmly believed that Morai-Heg visited her in her dreams, despite being ridiculed, beaten, and shunned by others. Unwavering in her obsession, Krethusa's madness reached its zenith when she discovered the Circlet of Morai-Heg hidden deep within a temple in Ulgu. By donning this headdress adorned with inverted spikes, she willingly sacrificed her sight, hoping to receive the divine enlightenment from the Crone Goddess.

The realization of this miracle never came to pass, causing Krethusa immense distress for many years. However, her unwavering devotion was eventually rewarded when Morathi-Khaine achieved godhood and sliced open the belly of Slaanesh. As a result, a sliver of divinity was released, granting Krethusa sable wings and the gift of foresight. Now known as the Croneseer, she is accompanied by flocks of carrion birds who serve as her all-seeing eyes across the Mortal Realms. Her mind is inundated with visions of yet-to-be-seen futures, although she struggles to fully comprehend the precise unfolding of each future. Morai-Heg subtly guides her with omens, providing assistance along her path. Krethusa's scattered visions of the future can be discovered in Dawnbringers: Book V – Shadow of the Crone, where she aids the Twin-Tailed Crusade in Ghyran and ventures to Hammerhal, a city gradually succumbing to the Kingsblood Curse.

This text encompasses various aspects of the book, including the Croneseer’s Pariahs, an Army of Renown dedicated to Morai-Heg worshippers, and a section dedicated to the protectors of Hammerhal. Additionally, it features the fourth installment of the Twin-Tailed Crusade Path to Glory pack. The book also introduces rules for Stronghold Assault, a new battlepack for Matched Play that allows teams of four players to engage in intense battles between competing redoubts. Furthermore, the sable-winged prophet of Morai-Heg will be initially available as part of Krethusa’s Cronehost, a box set that includes five Doomfire Warlocks (which can also be assembled as Dark Riders) and 10 Witch Aelves (which can alternatively be assembled as Sisters of Slaughter). Version 2:

Callis and Toll

Callis and Toll lead the Saviours of Cinderfall

In the treacherous Mortal Realms, where nightmarish horrors lurk at every turn, only the most resolute individuals dare to confront them. Enter Callis and Toll, a formidable duo hailing from the renowned city of Hammerhal. Their arrival has ignited a fervor among enthusiasts, as they unveil a captivating collection of miniatures, complete with a familiar feline companion. Moreover, their awe-inspiring adventures have been immortalized in a gripping novel by the esteemed Black Library, and they are set to take the spotlight in the eagerly awaited fifth book of the Dawnbringers series.

While the Twin-Tailed Crusade continues its arduous expedition through the unforgiving wilderness of Aqshy and Ghyran, Hammerhal, the epicenter of this momentous endeavor, finds itself besieged from both internal and external forces. Despite the ongoing illicit transportation of exquisite wine casks, distinguished by the kingsblood seal, through the crime-ridden and suffocating district of Cinderfall, which corrupts all who come into contact with it, transforming them into frenzied and insatiable maniacs, a solution is at hand. Dawnbringers: Book V - Shadow of the Crone introduces a motley crew of valiant heroes, led by an uncompromising witch hunter sporting an imposing hat, poised to tackle this formidable predicament.

The Cinderfall District is in dire need of salvation, and it is the noble task of the Saviours of Cinderfall to rid it of the Kingsblood Curse and rescue Hammerhal. Leading this valiant group is the experienced witch hunter, Hanniver Toll, accompanied by his trusted comrade, the former Freeguild officer Armand Callis. Their heroic exploits can be found in the renowned Black Library and the captivating Warhammer+ animation, Undercity. In order to uncover the treacherous plot that threatens to bring Hammerhal to its knees, Toll and Callis have assembled a remarkable group of individuals. Among them is Lyssa Revenya, a skilled thief hailing from the eerie city of Lethis, known for her expertise in navigating treacherous crypts and catacombs. Her unique abilities make her an invaluable asset in traversing the labyrinthine depths of Hammerhal. Despite being a fugitive, Toll was greatly impressed by her talents when they first crossed paths. Another key member is Mistress Verentia, the enigmatic Weaver of Secrets, whose name resonates throughout Hammerhal's criminal underworld. With her network of feline spies, she possesses an extensive web of informants scattered across the vast city, all reporting back to her through jeweled collars connected to a magical gauntlet bestowed upon her by a mysterious benefactor.

Valius, the Keeper Aqshian, and his loyal Gryph-hound Balthas complete this extraordinary group of heroes. As a Lord-Castellant, Valius has been a part of Hammerhal since its inception, wielding the Clavis Magna, the city's key. This key holds more than symbolic value, as it grants Valius the ability to traverse the city by passing through one threshold and emerging from another. This remarkable power has been instrumental in uncovering and eliminating the treacherous threats that loom over Hammerhal. However, Valius's duty is ceaseless, and he cannot be present in multiple places simultaneously. These miniatures will be released alongside Dawnbringers: Book V – Shadow of the Crone, which includes rules for incorporating them into Cities of Sigmar Armies or utilizing them as a distinguished Regiment in other Order armies. The tale of the city's gradual corruption and the valiant efforts of Callis and Toll to eradicate it will also be further explored in the upcoming Black Library novel, Callis & Toll, penned by David Annandale. Together with the Cities of Sigmar, these new heroes offer a firsthand perspective on life in the Mortal Realms and the trials faced by one of its most significant cities during the Age of Sigmar.

Zondara’s Gravebreakers

Zondara’s Gravebreakers Bring Love to the Deathgorge

The Deathgorge is a place that few willingly choose to visit, but love can push individuals to engage in irrational behavior. Zondara Rivenheart's love for her partner Ferlain was unparalleled and all-consuming. This proved to be advantageous, as she found herself delving deep into the mysteries of necromancy in order to break Ferlain's curse. Now, accompanied by a retinue of horrifying undead entities and Ferlain himself, who has undergone a profound transformation, Zondara ventures into the ominous depths of Ghur in search of salvation.

The Deathgorge lives up to its name, as it is an inhospitable and grim place. Its tunnels, covered in a layer of frost, are infested with deadly creatures and marauding bands of warriors who scour its icy depths in search of powerful treasures. Unlike the countless greedy souls who undertake the treacherous journey to this perilous land in pursuit of glory, Zondara Rivenheart, a mage from Ghur, embarks on this arduous quest not for riches or honor, but for love. When her beloved succumbed to a terrible curse, Zondara made a solemn vow to rescue him from eternal damnation as a monstrous beast. She went to great lengths, delving into the forbidden arts of necromancy, in her relentless pursuit of the knowledge needed to break the curse. Accompanied by three undead thralls and her lover Ferlain, trapped in his beastly form, she has braved the treacherous path to the Deathgorge, unwavering in her determination to find a solution. Armed with her deadly combination of necromantic and bestial magic, she possesses a formidable weapon to navigate the frozen caverns and overcome any adversaries that cross her path.

Zondara and Ferlain provide mutual support even in times of despair, inspiring each other when one of them has two or more upgrades. Apart from using her Wild Staff to attack enemies, Zondara can also utilize her Stolen Knowledge to either heal friendly fighters or inflict damage on nearby foes with each activation. Many of the objectives specific to Zondara's Gravebreakers reflect the tragic love story of these ill-fated lovers. Fortunately, if either Zondara or Ferlain is incapacitated, you have the option to discard and replace objective cards that are no longer relevant to the fallen fighter, enabling the search for a cure to persist.

Pikk, Toyle, and Cracktomb are zombies who have been touched by beasts, resulting in them having very little will of their own. As a result, they are assigned the task of excavating relics for their masters. Their existence is in a state of limbo, as they are constantly engaged in combat, labor, and digging. To make it easier for players to understand their abilities, these three zombies possess a set of three unique skills, which are divided among their individual cards. These skills are Gravebreak, Exhume, and Unearth. When one of your undead minions finishes their turn on top of an objective token, they have the ability to use Gravebreak to move the token to a neighboring hex. Additionally, you have the option to either use Exhume to revive a defeated minion, bringing them back into the fight and inspiring them in the process, or use Unearth to retrieve an upgrade card from your deck. This allows you to further enhance the abilities of Zondara and Ferlain, and potentially inspire them as well.

In the Rivals deck accompanying Zondara's Gravebreakers, there are numerous formidable upgrades waiting to be discovered. One such upgrade is Salvaged Intelligence, which not only enhances your action economy but also enables both Zondara and Ferlain to launch successive attacks. Cursed Strength offers additional attack power in exchange for a cost in flesh, while Wild Incantation increases the probability of your warband achieving success in combat. To overpower their opponents and achieve objectives like Life and Death, the Gravebreakers must employ their necromantic cunning, unwavering tenacity, and primal power. Zondara can earn additional points by skillfully managing her tireless revenants. Soulbound Killers exemplifies the immense motivating force of love, granting extra glory when scored while the cursed pair supports each other – a fantastic combination with Salvaged Intelligence.

Solar Auxilia

The Solar Auxilia Return to the Age of Darkness

While the Space Marines take the spotlight in the Horus Heresy, it is important to acknowledge that Humanity boasts other formidable elite forces. The Solar Auxilia, renowned as the finest human soldiers across the galaxy, are now equipped with a plethora of brand new plastic miniatures. This development allows them to showcase the immense potential of mortal warriors to the Legio Astartes.

The Solar Auxilia, comprised of highly skilled and well-prepared soldiers, represent the pinnacle of humanity's mortal forces. Soon, they will be arriving at a battlefield near you, armed with an array of new plastic kits. Leading the charge is the formidable Solar Auxilia Battle Group army box, containing a wealth of reliable infantry, robust armored tanks, and agile scouting support. This comprehensive set serves as an excellent starting point for those looking to assemble a new Solar Auxilia army, with the rules conveniently found in the Liber Imperium army book. Included are two 10-man Solar Auxilia lasrifle sections, which can be merged into a larger unit of 20 for those who prefer more substantial formations. Their resilient void armor ensures that these regular, unaugmented humans can withstand the rigors of battle with surprising fortitude.

The Dracosan Armoured Transport is utilized by the Solar Auxilia to safely transport infantry across the battlefield. This dependable vehicle has a heavily armored hold that can accommodate up to 20 troopers, while also being equipped with a variety of weapons to provide support upon disembarkation. By default, the Dracosan is armed with a double-barreled gravis lascannon, but it has the option to sacrifice half of its transport capacity in order to mount a devastating demolisher cannon instead. To handle support fire, it is equipped with a versatile pintle mount that can be fitted with a heavy flamer, heavy stubber, or multi-laser. Additionally, a pair of hunter-killer missiles are included to deliver a potent but temporary anti-armour strike. In contrast to the straightforward and easily produced Sentinels of the 41st Millennium, the Solar Auxilia possess a range of advanced models specifically designed for scouting missions. One such model is the Aethon Heavy Sentinel, which was first introduced in the Legions Imperialis. This vehicle is a common sight in the Age of Darkness and boasts a significantly heavier arsenal compared to most reconnaissance vehicles. It features a flexible central weapon mount and a powerful rocket system capable of launching heavy barrages.

The standard configuration of its central mount includes a multi-laser, but it has the capability to be equipped with other weapons such as autocannons, heavy incinerators, and volkite culverins for targeting infantry, or lascannons and melta-lances for armored vehicles. The Leman Russ is renowned for its versatility, comparable to the Legio Astartes Predator, and the Strike Tank variant in the army set further exemplifies this with four different turret weapons: a battle cannon, a vanquisher cannon, a gravis lascannon, or a gravis Autocannon. But that's not all for the Solar Auxilia, as additional units are also being introduced in plastic. The elite Veletaris Storm Sections possess superior training and equipment compared to the regular Cohorts of the Solar Auxilia. They are armed with potent volkite calivers, capable of taking down Space Marines with precise volleys, while daring Veletarii have the option to exchange their firearm for a deadly storm axe.

The Leman Russ Assault Tank enhances the range of turret choices available for your armored squadrons. This set elevates the explosive firepower by incorporating a colossal demolisher cannon, while the volkite macro-saker obliterates infantry with its eight long-range shots. If your primary concern is countering Space Marines, consider the executioner plasma cannon, which unleashes devastating rending plasma across extensive areas of the battlefield. For situations demanding an even more formidable armored presence, the Malcador is deployed. This renowned design, originating from the Age of Strife, surprises with its agility despite its substantial size, enabling it to outmaneuver heavier squadrons such as Baneblades and Stormhammers.

The Malcador Heavy Tank is renowned for its formidable armament, which includes a main turret cannon and heavy bolter sponsons. However, it can also be upgraded to accommodate five lascannons, a plethora of incinerators, numerous multi-lasers, and even a demolisher cannon at the front. Nevertheless, the Horus Heresy design team is committed to fully exploring the Horus Heresy setting. In order to maintain a balanced and cohesive Warhammer 40,000 game system, there are no plans to develop rules for using these miniatures in the 41st Millennium. However, you are welcome to utilize compatible models within a regular Astra Militarum regiment, although their optimal performance will be in the Age of Darkness.
