Riftbound Set 6: Legacy — Bear the Banner, Forge Your Legacy

Riot's sixth set puts the six regions of Runeterra front and centre — 346 cards, a brand-new Legend-or-Battlefield pack slot, four Champion Decks, and the first Riftbound set built for draft from day one.

Every Riftbound player has their champion. The one you main in League. The one you grab in TFT without thinking. The one you built a deck around because the art on the Legend card just looked right. Legacy is Riot's love letter to that moment at the start of every game when you and your opponent flip your Legends and reveal who you're representing.

This time it goes further than the champion. Legacy is built around the regions — Demacia, Noxus, Ionia, Piltover & Zaun, Freljord and Bilgewater — and each one gets its own identity that runs through the cards and the way they play. You're not just picking Garen. You're bearing Demacia's banner.

It arrives January 29, 2027, with Pre-Rift events the week before. Here's what Riot has confirmed so far, what's changing inside the packs, and how to make sure a Legacy Booster Display has your name on it.

What's changing inside a Legacy booster

The biggest pack change since the game launched — and it's good news if you've ever opened a display and come up short on Legends.

Legend or Battlefield slot

Starting with Legacy, one Common slot in every booster becomes a dedicated slot that's either a Legend or a Battlefield. Your display now hands you the two card types decks are actually built around, every single pack.

Commons (down from 7)

The Common count drops by one to make room. The rest of the pack — Uncommons, foil Rares with upgrade odds, the random-rarity foil and the token slot — carries on as Riftbound players know it.

346

Cards in the set

Set code LGC. Of the 346, 93 are Showcase variants — the premium-art chase treatment collectors have been hunting since Origins. That's a deep Showcase pool for a 24-pack display to dig into.

Classic

League Classic art crossover

Riot has confirmed cards inspired by the look of League of Legends Classic — the early-days art style. How many and at what rarity is still under wraps, but if you played in 2010 you're going to feel something.

The Legends confirmed so far

Eight named, four still under the banner. Two from each region is the obvious guess — Riot hasn't said.

Why we're excited: this is the first Riftbound set built for draft

Riot says Legacy was designed from the ground up with Limited play as a priority — signpost cards that tell you which region to lean into, and a new class of Minion unit cards to fill out a draft deck. Earlier sets drafted fine. Legacy is meant to draft well.

What that means at Saga: a Booster Display isn't just 24 packs to crack — it's a full draft night for eight people. If you've been waiting for the right set to run one, this is it. Expect draft on the Nexus Night calendar once Legacy lands.
