PAINT // About Citadel Paints
Citadel is Games Workshop's paint range, made for painting Warhammer miniatures and great on any plastic or resin model. Each type does one job, so most painters mix a few:
- Base paints: strong, opaque colour for your first solid coat.
- Layer paints: thinner paints for building up highlights.
- Shade paints: washes that run into the recesses to add shadow and depth.
- Contrast paints: one coat over a light undercoat gives colour and shading together.
- Dry paints: thick paints made for drybrushing raised detail and texture.
- Technical paints: effects like texture, rust, blood, gloss and varnish.
- Air paints: pre-thinned for airbrushes.
- Sprays to undercoat and tools like brushes, clippers and files.
