Warhammer 40K Horus Heresy The Old World GW Pre-Orders

Games Workshop Warhammer 40K Combat Patrol Adeptus Custodes 73-011

The Combat Patrol: Adeptus Custodes on our shelf right now — and the new Support Battle Group below is about to give it some very fast friends.

The Emperor's own bodyguard is getting the reinforcement wave Custodes players have waited years for. This week's Sunday Preview headlines the all-new plastic Custodes Support Battle Group — jetbikes, a grav-tank, and a towering Telemon Dreadnought, all usable in both Warhammer 40,000 and the Horus Heresy. The Old World gets five ready-made Battle March army boxes, and Black Library brings Guy Haley back to the Blood Angels. Here's everything on the way, and how to be first in line when our pre-orders open.

Want first dibs on the Custodes wave?

GW says these go up for pre-order next week — and the Support Battle Group and dice are only available while stocks last. Join the list and we'll email you the moment ours go live.

Warhammer 40,000  +  The Horus Heresy

Custodes Support Battle Group

Custodes Support Battle Group box — Gyrfalcon jetbikes, Pallas Grav-attack, and Telemon Dreadnought

Three much-loved Forge World classics, reborn in modern plastic in a single box: four Gyrfalcon jetbikes, a Pallas Grav-attack, and a mighty Telemon Dreadnought — which might not look fast, but handily outpaces many of its smaller peers and carries some truly destructive weaponry. This is devastating high-speed firepower, golden-armored edition.

Custodes Support Battle Group miniatures — usable in Warhammer 40,000 and the Horus Heresy

The best part: every miniature in the box is usable in Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: The Horus Heresy — one purchase, two game systems. The box is only available while stocks last.

Journal Tactica — Prospero Burns: Judgement of Valdor

Journal Tactica — Prospero Burns: Judgement of Valdor

How the Legio Custodes were dragged into the Burning of Prospero — a softback packed with background on the assault on Tizca, new scenarios, rules, extra units, and a brand-new army list for Daemons of Tzeentch. Just as planned.

Legio Custodes Dice Set — pearlised red acrylic with gold pips

Legio Custodes Dice Set

Pearlised red acrylic with gold pips: 19 D6 with the Legio Custodes logo in place of the '6', plus a scatter dice. Only available while stocks last — faction dice for the Ten Thousand rarely come around twice.

Why this matters

Two of the three items here are while-stocks-last, and dual-system boxes historically sell through fast — a Heresy player and a 40K player are competing for the same box. If Custodes are your army in either era, this is not a wave to sleep on. No pricing announced yet — we'll have exact numbers when pre-orders open.

Warhammer: The Old World

Five Battle March Army Boxes

Battle March is The Old World's quick-play format — 400 to 750 point games you can finish on a lunch break, no less exciting than a full-size clash. Five factions are getting dedicated army boxes that deploy a ready-made Battle March force straight out of the shrink wrap. Each one doubles as an ideal starting point for a full army, and you'll save money compared to buying the contents individually. Browse everything Old World in our Old World collection.

Empire of Man Battle March army box

Empire of Man

A Commander leading 20 State Troops, 10 State Missile Troops, 10 Archers, 10 Flagellants, and 5 Pistoliers — the massed ranks of Sigmar's heartland.

Beastmen Brayherds Battle March army box

Beastmen Brayherds

A Chieftain and Shaman herding 20 Gors, 10 Ungors, 10 Bestigors, and 10 Chaos Warhounds — a stampede from the dark forests.

Wood Elf Realms Battle March army box

Wood Elf Realms

Araloth, Lord of Talsyn, with 10 Eternal Guard, 4 Glade Riders, and dual-build kits for Sisters of the Thorn/Wild Riders and Glade Guard/Deepwood Scouts.

High Elf Realms Battle March army box

High Elf Realms

A High Elf Lord with 10 Lothern Sea Guard, 5 Ellyrian Reavers, a Lothern Skycutter, a Tiranoc Chariot, and a Shadow Warriors/Sisters of Avelorn dual kit.

Orc & Goblin Tribes Battle March army box

Da Big One

Orc & Goblin Tribes

The greenskins get the beefiest roster of the five: an Orc Boss on War Boar, a Battle Standard Bearer, a Goblin Shaman, 15 Orc Mob, 5 Wolf Riders, 5 Orc Boar Boyz, and an Orc Boar Chariot. With the new Orks codex tearing up 40K this month, it's officially a green summer on both sides of the aisle.

Black Library

Raldoron: Revenant

Guy Haley returns to the Age of Darkness. With Sanguinius fighting to stall Horus' advance on Terra, First Captain Raldoron of the Blood Angels must lean on untrained Inductii recruits — and hold the line against the Red Thirst threatening to drag his Legion back to its blood-soaked past. Browse everything bookish in our Black Library collection.

Raldoron: Revenant by Guy Haley — hardback edition

Hardback Edition

Your first chance at the hardback — available while stocks last, though it may return to print down the road.

Raldoron: Revenant Special Edition — signed, red foil cover

Special Edition

Signed by Guy Haley, with red foil on the cover and spine, a ribbon page marker, and extra detailing throughout. Strictly while stocks last.

Can't wait for pre-orders? Muster your Custodes today

The golden legion is already on our shelves: the Combat Patrol: Adeptus Custodes (just one in stock!), a Shield Captain to lead them, Custodian Wardens to hold the line, and the Codex: Adeptus Custodes to run them by the book.

Our Take

The Support Battle Group is the story here. Forge World resin versions of these units were expensive, fiddly, and often out of stock — a plastic box that serves two game systems at once is exactly the kind of release that vanishes on pre-order weekend. The Battle March boxes are the smart-money pick for anyone who's been Old World-curious: a legal quick-play force, a real discount versus buying separately, and a painting project that won't swallow your autumn. And with a Daemons of Tzeentch army list hiding in the Prospero Burns journal, even non-Custodes Heresy players have a reason to grab it.

GW hasn't announced pricing or the exact pre-order date yet — just "next week." The moment our pre-orders go live, we'll update this post with direct links, and the email list hears first.
