Free Hobby Education for Everyone

GW just announced a free video library covering lore, painting, and gameplay. This is the resource you've been looking for to send to curious friends.

One of the most common things we hear at the store is, "I've always been curious about Warhammer, but I don't know where to start." Games Workshop has heard that too—and their answer is Warhammer Academy.

Announced at the Big Summer Preview, Warhammer Academy is a free video hub launching with 150+ videos covering every corner of the hobby — from the lore of the setting to assembling and painting your first miniature to playing your first game. It's built specifically for newcomers, and it's completely free.

The launch focuses on Warhammer 40,000 (new edition, perfect timing), with Age of Sigmar content coming soon after.

What the Academy Covers

Lore & Collecting The World, the Factions, the Story Decades of lore made accessible. The Academy walks you through factions, settings, and the stories behind the armies—in bite-sized videos you can actually follow without a library of White Dwarf back issues.

Building & Painting From Sprue to Tabletop Assembly tips, painting techniques, and how to make your miniatures look great without years of practice. Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or looking to level up your skills, these videos meet you where you are.

Gaming How to Actually Play Never set up a game before? The academy covers everything—how movement works, how to build your army, and how to run a full game from deployment to final turn. No experience required.
