Sons of Behemat Age of Sigmar Middle-earth GW Pre-Orders

Games Workshop Warhammer Age of Sigmar Sons of Behemat King Brodd, Beast-smasher 93-10

King Brodd, Beast-smasher — on our shelf right now, and the perfect warlord to put in front of everything below.

The ground is trembling, and that only means one thing: the Sons of Behemat are on the march, and they’ve brought reinforcements. This week’s Sunday Preview is a giant-sized Age of Sigmar wave — a new witch-hero who blesses Gargants with almighty bigness, a box of disciplined Boss-stompers, two limited boxed sets stuffed with Mega-Gargants, a brand-new Destruction Battletome, and matching cards and dice. Over in Middle-earth, three Battlehost boxes give you a whole army in one purchase. Here’s the full rundown — and how to be first in line when our pre-orders open.

Want first dibs on the Sons of Behemat wave?

GW says these go up for pre-order next week, and two of the boxes are “while stocks last.” Limited Gargant boxes do not hang around. Pop your email in below and tick Warhammer: Age of Sigmar — or Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game if the Battlehosts are what you’re after — and you’ll hear from us the moment ours go live.

Age of Sigmar  ·  New Miniatures

The Gargants Get Bigger

Four new kits, and every one of them is enormous. The two boxed sets are both limited to available stock, which historically means they sell through and never come back.

Ma Maegran, Chooser of the Mighty — Sons of Behemat witch with two Ancient Ghyrochs

Ma Maegran, Chooser of the Mighty

A mystical witch who bestows the blessing of almighty bigness on your chosen Gargants. Her magic is an invaluable tool in any Sons of Behemat army, and her pair of Ancient Ghyrochs gore anything that gets close to their titanic shepherd.

Sons of Behemat Boss-stompers — three Gargants

Boss-stompers

Three Gargants who take a serious, disciplined approach to warfare — by Gargant standards. Build them instead as Rock-hurlers, who prefer to keep their distance and, yes, hurl rocks. Those three Rock-hurlers make up the new Sons of Behemat Spearhead army.

Stomper Tribe boxed set — Warstomper Mega-Gargant and three Mancrusher Gargants

Stomper Tribe · while stocks last

A whole force in a box: one Warstomper Mega-Gargant and three Mancrusher Gargants, built around the new Stomper Tribe Army of Renown rules. The Warstomper can be built as a Gatebreaker or Kraken-eater instead, and the Mancrushers come loaded with cosmetic options.

Brawlers of Behemat boxed set — two Mega-Gargants with ruined Embergard terrain

Brawlers of Behemat · while stocks last

A standalone two-player game: two raging Mega-Gargants slug it out with easy-to-learn rules, and you get a new set of ruined Embergard terrain to fight over. Each Gargant builds as a Warstomper, Gatebreaker, or Kraken-eater, rules for all three included.

Why this matters

Sons of Behemat has always been the “six models and you’re done” army — the cheapest full force to paint in Age of Sigmar, and the one that turns heads across the shop. This wave finally gives it a proper hero, a Spearhead entry point, and two boxed sets that stack Mega-Gargants at boxed-set value. If you’ve been eyeing this army from a distance, the Spearhead and the Stomper Tribe box are the two doors in. Brawlers of Behemat is the one we’d flag for anyone who wants a game to play tonight rather than an army to build — and it’s the one most likely to disappear first. GW hasn’t announced pricing yet; we’ll have exact numbers when pre-orders open.

Age of Sigmar  ·  Rules & Accessories

Destruction Battletome: Sons of Behemat

Background lore, artwork, miniatures galleries, and full game rules for your sky-scraping horde — the Gargant tribes of the Mortal Realms and what they’ve been up to in Ghur, plus new battle traits, the new Spearhead force, and a pile of Path to Glory content.

Destruction Battletome: Sons of Behemat — hardback and Gamer's Edition

Battletome — Hardback & Gamer’s Edition

The regular hardback, plus a pocket-friendly Gamer’s Edition that ships with 33 warscroll cards. The Gamer’s Edition is only available while stocks last — and that format has a habit of going out of print quickly.

Sons of Behemat Warscroll Cards and 16-piece themed dice setWarscroll Cards & Dice

Warscroll Cards keep your important rules at hand, and the dice pack is 16 dice cast in bloodstained bone-coloured plastic with dark red pips — and a big man-crushing foot on the six. We’re not going to pretend that isn’t excellent.

Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game

Three Battlehosts, Three Armies

Battlehost boxes are the easiest on-ramp in the hobby: one box, one army, ready to play. Better still, GW puts free downloadable rules on Warhammer Community that let any two Battlehost forces fight each other — no rulebook purchase required. Grab two, bring a friend, and you’re playing this week. Browse everything Middle-earth in our Middle-earth / Lord of the Rings collection.

Rohan Battlehost for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, led by King Theoden

Rohan Battlehost

Lead the Riddermark with King Théoden at the head of your horse-lords. The Good-side pick for anyone who has ever wanted to shout “Forth Eorlingas” over a table.

Mirkwood Battlehost for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, with LegolasMirkwood Battlehost

Sneak through the woods with Legolas and the elves of Mirkwood — the elegant, high-skill army for players who like precision over weight of numbers.

Dol Guldur Battlehost for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, commanded by Bolg

The Evil pick

Dol Guldur Battlehost

Smash through your enemies with the dark host of Dol Guldur, commanded by Bolg. If the Rohan and Mirkwood boxes are the two Good armies on the table, this is the one that gives them something to fight — and the reason to buy two boxes instead of one.

Start Stomping Today

Don’t want to wait for pre-orders? These are on the shelf right now.

Every Sons of Behemat army wants a warlord, and King Brodd, Beast-smasher is the one — a crazed monster-hunter Mega-Gargant who can alternatively be built as a Kraken-eater. Keep your rules straight with the Sons of Behemat Faction Pack, and if you want the biggest thing in the Destruction Grand Alliance standing beside your Gargants, Kragnos, the End of Empires is in stock too.

Building the other side of the table? The Cities of Sigmar Gate Gargants are the giants who fight for the free cities — well stocked and a great counterpoint to a Behemat force. See everything in our Sons of Behemat and Age of Sigmar collections.

Middle-earth, in stock now

Can’t wait for the new Battlehosts? The Minas Tirith Battlehost is the same one-box-one-army deal and it’s here today (only three left). For Rohan players, the Battle of Edoras Core Game is the full two-player starting point, and the Warriors of Rohan Commanders and Héra, Daughter of Helm add the leaders.

Our Take

Sons of Behemat is the army people stop and stare at. A Mega-Gargant is a centrepiece model in the truest sense — one kit, one afternoon of painting, and suddenly your shelf has a landmark on it. What this wave does is fix the two things that always held the faction back: it hands them a real character in Ma Maegran, and it gives new players an actual entry point with the Spearhead and the Stomper Tribe box, instead of asking them to drop a full army’s worth on one giant and hope.

The one to watch is Brawlers of Behemat. Two Mega-Gargants plus terrain plus a self-contained game is the kind of box that gets bought by people who don’t play Age of Sigmar at all — and it’s limited. Same story with the Gamer’s Edition Battletome. If either one is on your list, being on our email list is the difference between getting one and reading about them.

GW hasn’t announced pricing or an exact pre-order date — just “next week.” The moment our pre-orders go live, we’ll update this post with direct links, and the email list hears first.
