Ogor Mawtribes

The Hunt Is On

GW just revealed the Hunters with Sabrefangs—a brand new kit for Ogor Mawtribes in Age of Sigmar. Crossbows, ambush rules, and two very angry cats.

New Ogor Hunters with Sabrefangs reveal for Warhammer Age of Sigmar

When most people think of Ogor, they think of blunt-force brutality—charging headlong into whatever's in front of them and eating the leftovers. The Hunters are something different. These are the advance scouts of an ogor warpath: weeks ahead of the main force, stalking through enemy lines, and somehow managing to move silently despite weighing as much as a small cart.

They're still happy to get stuck into close combat, but their real trick is range. Those enormous crossbows aren't decoration—they can punch through multiple enemies in a single shot, and Hunters are experts at repositioning after they fire so opponents can never draw a clean bead on them.

Three Hunters plus two Sabrefangs — all in one kit. That's a lot of teeth on a single base.

What's in the Kit
  • 3 Ogor Hunters
  • 2 Sabrefang companions
  • Massive crossbows for the Hunters
  • Full rules for both unit types
About the Sabrefangs

Don't write them off as pets. Sabrefangs are bloodthirsty pack hunters that obey an ogor's every command. In game terms, they're more than ablative wounds—they're a threat multiplier that can shred enemies before they ever get within reach of the Hunters themselves.

The Rules: Through the Frosts

Every unit in Age of Sigmar has a signature ability, and this one is exactly what you'd want from an ambush hunter. Here's what the Hunters bring to the table:

Hunters with Sabrefangs
Once Per Battle (Army) · Deployment Phase
THROUGH THE FROSTS
Despite their size, Hunters are skilled in the art of the ambush, advancing under the cover of lingering icy mists.
Effect

Remove this unit from the battlefield and set it up again wholly within 3" of a terrain feature and more than 9" from all enemy units. This unit cannot use MOVE abilities in the first turn of the first battle round.

What This Means in Practice

Once per game, at deployment, you pull the hunters off the board entirely and redeploy them—hugging terrain, well away from enemy units. You can't move them on turn one, but you get to pick where they start from after seeing your opponent's setup. It's a guaranteed flanking tool and threat projector that forces your opponent to account for them in their deployment before you've committed.

Why This Kit Has Us Excited

Ogor Mawtribes have always been one of the more visually striking armies in AoS—enormous brutes painted in earthy tones, with an aesthetic that sits somewhere between Viking raid and prehistoric hunt. The Hunters lean into that identity hard. The crossbows, the pelts, the Sabrefangs—this is a kit built to stand out in your collection.

No release date yet, but this is part of a large Ogor Mawtribes wave GW announced at the Big Summer Preview. We'll have more details when a pre-order date drops, and we'll be stocking the full release.
