Heat: Pedal to the Metal (DOW9101)
Heat: Pedal to the Metal is a board game from Days of Wonder for 1–6 players, playing in 45–60 minutes, recommended for ages 10+.
How it plays
Heat: Pedal to the Metal puts you in the driver's seat of intense car races. It runs on simple, intuitive hand management: you jockey for position to cross the finish line first while managing your speed so your engine doesn't overheat.
Weather, road conditions and events change from race to race, and the Championship mode lets you play a whole season in one night (about 3 hours). It plays up to 6, you can add Bot players for extra competition with fewer people, and it includes a solo mode.
This is the base game, not an expansion.
Saga Table Talk
Great for: Racing fans, families with kids 10 and up, and groups who like a game that's easy to learn and exciting to play.
What a game night feels like: Loud and dramatic. Corners get tense, someone always pushes their car too hard, and the final straight has everyone on their feet.

Teaching tip: Run a short practice lap before your first race so everyone sees how heat cards build up.
