Warpaints Fanatic or Speedpaint 2.0: which should I start with?
Speedpaint 2.0 is the fastest route to a finished army: one coat over a light primer gives you base color, shading and highlights at once. Warpaints Fanatic is a traditional acrylic range for layering and full control. Many painters use both: Speedpaint for rank-and-file, Fanatic for heroes. Compare the sets.
Do I need a primer?
Yes. Bare plastic and resin need a primer so paint sticks and stays. Army Painter Colour Primer sprays come in a range of colors, so you can prime in a tone close to your final scheme and save a step. Shop primers.
What is in a starter set vs a mega set?
Starter sets give you a core palette of around 10 paints plus a brush, enough for a first squad. Mega sets cover most of the range and work out far cheaper per bottle. If you already know you will keep painting, the mega set pays for itself.
Are these paints safe for kids and classrooms?
Army Painter acrylics are water-based and non-toxic, and clean up with water. Spray primers should only be used by adults in a ventilated space.
Do you ship paints?
Yes. Bottled paints ship anywhere in the US and orders over $99 ship free. Aerosol sprays are also available in person at our Englewood, NJ store at 35 S Van Brunt St.
