Disney Lorcana Hyperia City: Coco Debuts, Ink Drops Arrive & Pre-Release Events Hit October 16

The Rivera Family Takes the Stage

Glimmers of Miguel, Héctor, Mamá Coco, and the rest of the Rivera family arrive in Hyperia City, ready to honor their ancestors and steal the spotlight from Ernesto de la Cruz. Coco's memorable songs — Remember Me, Un Poco Loco, and The World Es Mi Familia — appear as playable cards across Amber, Amethyst, and Ruby inks.

The set also introduces mechanics that reward you for remembering past glimmers: cards like the Land of the Dead location give you extra lore if you have 10 or more cards in your discard pile. It's a thematic callback to the film's central message — and a reason to build around your graveyard for the first time in Lorcana.

Ink Drops: Temporary Power You Can Spend

Hyperia City debuts ink drops — special pieces of temporary ink you add to your inkwell to accelerate plays and unlock bonus effects. Unlike permanent ink, ink drops are spent when you use them, making timing critical.

Cards like Madam Mim – Resourceful Trickster let you draw extra cards when you spend an ink drop. Go Go Tomago – Extreme Tester generates an ink drop whenever an opponent challenges her. Wasabi – Called into Battle and Jousting Match both get stat boosts if you spend an ink drop when you play them.

Ink drops open up combo-heavy strategies — you'll need to decide whether to spend them early for tempo or hold them for a game-winning turn. Ravensburger has a full article on the mechanic on the Hyperia City product page.

Lorcana Pre-Release events happen at local game stores — the Pre-Release Box includes exclusive promo cards and event materials you won't find in the regular release. Check with your local store to confirm whether they're hosting a Hyperia City event on October 16.
