Sons of Sanguinius · Beginner · Aggressive melee, fast-moving, charge-focused

The Blood Angels are Space Marines with a dark secret—a genetic flaw called the Black Rage that drives their warriors into glorious, berserker fury in the heat of battle. On the tabletop, this translates into one of the most aggressive, fast-moving, and deeply satisfying armies in all of Warhammer 40K.

Sons of the Primarch Sanguinius, the Blood Angels combine the discipline of a Space Marine army with the raw, explosive charge of a melee faction. They are faster than standard Marines, hit harder in close combat, and have access to unique units like the Death Company — warriors consumed by the Black Rage who charge into enemy lines with unmatched ferocity.

If you watched Warhammer lore videos and thought, 'I want the vampire angel space marines who go insane and charge everything,' this is your army. They look incredible on the tabletop, reward aggressive play, and have some of the most dramatic model sculpts in the entire range.

Is This Army Right for You?

  • You want to play aggressively—getting into melee and staying there
  • You love the aesthetic of angelic warriors consumed by righteous fury
  • You want a fast-moving army that can cross the battlefield in two turns
  • You enjoy rich lore and one of the most beloved chapters in all of 40K.

Playstyle & Strengths

Melee Supremacy: Blood Angels hit harder in melee than almost any other Space Marine chapter. The Death Company and Sanguinary Guard are among the most feared close-combat units in the game.

Speed: Jump pack infantry and fast vehicles mean Blood Angels are in your opponent's face faster than they expect. Great for disrupting shooting-heavy armies.

Dramatic Play Style: Blood Angels rewards players who take risks. Charging across the board, triggering rage abilities, smashing into melee—every game feels like a cinematic battle.

Beautiful Models: The Blood Angels range features angelic iconography, detailed death masks, and some of the most iconic miniatures Games Workshop has ever produced.

How to Build Your First Blood Angels Army
