Starter Set — A Complete Game in a Box |
|
What's in the box Two full combat patrol armies—Space Marines and Orks—a pair of battlefield boards, terrain to fill them, dice, rulers, a complete Core Rulebook, a Starter Set Handbook, and quick-reference sheets. |
|
Why this matters GW hasn't published an exact terrain count, but from the reveal photos this looks like roughly half a table's worth of build-and-paint-yourself terrain (not the pre-painted Battlefields: Armageddon terrain from the Big Summer Preview). If that holds up, this could be a genuinely strong value box for anyone building toward a full table—worth watching once pricing lands. |
Introductory Set — Exclusive Models Included |
|
What's in the box A Space Marine lieutenant, five Intercessors, an Ork Nob, and five Boyz—six paints, a playmat, card terrain, a starter brush, a range ruler, six dice, and a 48-page handbook covering small games and painting basics. |
|
Why this matters GW's copy specifically calls this lieutenant and Ork nob sculpt "first available in the Introductory "Set"—there's no word yet on either being sold separately. If that stays true, this box is the only way to get these two models. Worth grabbing on that alone if you collect Space Marines or Orks, even beyond the beginner angle. |
Miniatures + Paint Sets |
A new run of small bundles pairs a handful of miniatures with a curated paint selection—a low-commitment way to try the hobby before buying a full army.

Getting Started Sets — Pick Your Faction |
Two faction-specific sets each pack a full Combat Patrol force, 11 paints, a brush, a texture spreader, and an introductory booklet. Every model is push-fit, so there's no glue required to get on the table.
|
Getting Started—Orks Full Ork Combat Patrol force, push-fit, plus everything needed to start painting. |
Getting Started — Space Marines Full Space Marines Combat Patrol force, push-fit, plus everything needed to start painting. |
Ghosts of Cadia & New Hardback Editions |
![]() Ghosts of Cadia Rob Young's sequel to Longshot—sniper Darya Nevic gets a chance to strike back and settle an old debt. Coming in hardback and a stocks-last special edition. |
![]() Longshot Darya Nevic's first outing gets a new hardback edition—stocks are limited for now; it may return to print later. |
![]() The Devastation of Baal Guy Haley's Blood Angels vs. Tyranids classic returns in a new hardback—also while supplies last. |
Our Take
This is the most complete new-hobbyist lineup GW has put out in a while—a proper two-army Starter Set, a cheaper Introductory Set with its own exclusive sculpts, low-commitment paint bundles, and faction Getting Started boxes that don't need glue. If you're the friend people ask, "How do I get into Warhammer?" This whole wave is the answer. We're most curious about the Starter Set's terrain count and the Introductory Set's exclusive models—both look like real value if GW's own descriptions hold up once pricing lands.
No release date yet — GW says more is coming tomorrow on one of the Big Summer Preview factions, so keep an eye out. We'll update this post the moment pre-orders go live.
